Grammy winner. Oscar winner. And now presidential appointee.
President Joe Biden introduced Thursday that he was appointing Woman Gaga to function cochair for the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities.
The committee, which was based in 1982 beneath former president Ronald Reagan, advises the president and different prime officers on cultural coverage.
Per the White Home, the committee consists of members that embrace “outstanding artists, students, and philanthropists who’ve demonstrated a critical dedication to the humanities and humanities.”
The committee had been dormant since all previous members resigned in 2017 in protest towards former president Donald Trump’s response to the white nationalist violence in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Biden signed an executive order in September to relaunch the committee, which is a part of the Institute of Museum and Library Companies.
