HOUGHTON — The No. 18 nationally-ranked Michigan Tech males’s cross nation staff is able to race amongst one of the best in Division II on the NCAA Nationwide Championships in Seattle, Washington. The race takes place on Friday (Dec. 2) on the Chambers Creek Regional Park course hosted by Seattle Pacific College, with the boys racing first at 2:15 p.m.
The races are part of the DII Nationwide Championship Pageant the place SPU will host six nationwide championships over the weekend. These championships embody males’s and ladies’s soccer, volleyball, ladies’s area hockey, in addition to males’s and ladies’s cross nation. Tech earned an at-large bid to make their third-straight look on the Nationwide Championships, after putting fourth within the midwest area on Nov. 19. The fourth-place end was highlighted by a program tying three All-Area performances coming from sophomore Drew Kolodge (eighth place), senior Clayton Sayen (eleventh place) and sophomore Sam Lange (fifteenth place).
The trio are additionally the top-three returners from the staff that positioned twenty fourth at nationals in St. Leo, Florida, final season as Kolodge positioned 66th, Lange positioned 94th and Sayen positioned 113th.
Nick McKenzie, who earned Second Crew All-Convention after his Twentieth-place end, may also compete for the Huskies, final season, he positioned 141st on the NCAA Championships.
The Huskies could have some new faces on the beginning line, with Stephen Loparo, Tucker Ringhand and Kyle Samluk competing of their first Nationwide Championships.
